Taking a hit from an enemy doesn’t mean much, since additional shields are cheap upgrades, and so, until you are dozens of levels in, there is no sense of challenge at all.Įventually the difficulty curve will catch up with you, but the thought of having to replay dozens of levels in order to get back to that point is painful, and while the high score leaderboards a nice (essential) touch, it’s wasn’t really enough to encourage me to come back for more. Players earn “cash” by defeating enemies, and this cash can be used to upgrade weapons, to more easily kill the bad guys. With the Attack on Titan anime on a hiatus as we wait for Season 4 Part 3, we’ve decided to continue reading the manga past where the TV show left off. Slowly but surely faster and tougher enemies are introduced. With each wave of enemies cleared, and entirely new wave of enemies appears on the screen. We usually keep the conclusion until the end of the article, but we have to get it out of the system before. The game received mixed reviews from critics, commending its art style and addictiveness but citing its small amount of content and problems with the 3DS port. Players start out shooting basic waves of basic enemies, just as they would in Space Invaders. Titan Attacks is one hell of a retro arcade shooter, and every minute of it is pure joy.
